BRIAN KOZIARA is a managing associate in the firm's New York office, where his practice focuses on M&A, shareholder activism, and corporate governance.
Prior to joining Sidley, Brian was an associate at another major law firm, where his practice focused on M&A, shareholder activism and corporate governance. He has represented public companies, private equity funds, and portfolio companies on a variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, tender offers, IPOs, debt financings, joint ventures, and restructurings.
Brian received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as executive articles editor of the Michigan Business & Entrepreneurial Law Review. He also served as a research assistant for the University of Michigan Center on Finance, Law & Policy under the direction of Dean Michael Barr of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
Additionally, Brian holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, along with a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in International Political Economy and a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Music Composition from the University of Michigan. Brian is also fluent in French.
