KAYLA NGUYEN focuses her practice on technology and life sciences transactions, encompassing M&A, licensing, development, and IP asset transfers. She advises clients across diverse sectors on optimizing IP portfolios and navigating intricate regulatory landscapes.
Kayla earned her J.D. at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was awarded the Berkeley Law Opportunity Scholarship. She served as an articles editor for the Berkeley Business Law Journal and as the communications editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. During law school, she externed for the Honorable Jacqueline H. Nguyen on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also received pro bono honors for her work with Legal Obstacles Veterans Encounter and Swords to Plowshares, where she helped low-income and elderly veterans access government benefits and created a Veterans Benefit Manual. Kayla was also an active member of Women of Berkeley Law, the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and the Health Law and Biotech Law Association.
Kayla received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Duke University as a Gates Millenium Scholar. During her undergraduate career, she worked with a non-profit to address health, housing, and educational disparities for homeless and at-risk children in the Bay Area. She was also an active member of Duke Business Oriented Women, American Red Cross, and Court Appointed Special Advocates.
