Biography

MEGAN SOLIZ represents companies and individuals in complex disputes, including class actions, in various state and federal courts. Her litigation practice includes representing corporate clients across a number of industries, including sports, retail, healthcare, oil and gas, banking, and insurance. She has worked on a variety of commercial disputes involving allegations of breach of contract and fiduciary duties, fraud, negligence, antitrust violations, and violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) and Employee Retirement Income and Security Act (ERISA). Additionally, Megan has experience with alternative dispute resolution procedures through arbitrations and mediations.

Prior to joining Sidley, Megan was an associate at a global law firm located in Dallas. She also served as a judicial intern for Justice Phil Johnson of the Supreme Court of Texas.

Megan received her J.D., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she served as the managing editor for the Texas Tech Law Review.

  • Represented an insurance corporation in a declaratory judgment suit regarding business interruption and civil authority COVID-19 claims
  • Represented an insurance corporation in declaratory judgment suit regarding commission payments on a reinsurance agreement 
  • Represented financial institutions in various financial disputes before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
  • Represented a foreign mobile app developer in a Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) suit brought by a state attorney general 
  • Represented various hospitals in a class action lawsuit regarding various claims related to evaluation and management fees 
  • Represented a hospital system in a contract dispute regarding underpayment of claims by a health insurer 
  • Represented an individual in a breach of contract and DTPA claim
