W. Stuart Whitney

W. STUART WHITNEY focuses his practice on commercial litigation and disputes.

Stu graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Washington University School of Law, where he served as a senior executive editor of the Washington University Law Review and on the board of the American Constitution Society. As a student attorney in the Appellate Clinic, he co-authored briefing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Stu earned his B.S. in genetics from the University of Minnesota.

Prior to joining Sidley, Stu served as a legal intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois.
