Colleen Theresa Brown Speaks at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s 63rd Annual Corporate Counsel Institute

Colleen Theresa Brown, partner with the Privacy and Cybersecurity group at Sidley, will co-lead a workshop on “Cyber Rules Implementation” at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s 63rd Annual Corporate Counsel Institute. The workshop will explore key requirements of the SEC’s public company cybersecurity rules for cyber risk management, risks and other considerations when addressing cyber disclosures in 10-k filings, triggers and requirements for 8-k filings, cybersecurity governance and related considerations, and practical tips for incident response in light of new disclosure obligations.
For over 60 years, Northwestern Law has presented the Corporate Counsel Institute (CIC), focusing on the specific continuing education needs of the corporate counsel community. CIC is the only program in the country designed by a committee made up exclusively of general counsel. It addresses the latest legal issues affecting business while allowing attendees to discuss shared experiences, identify concerns, and network with peers.
Colleen handles privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, and emerging technology issues for a diverse group of companies, including those in the financial, life sciences, technology, energy, telecommunications, media, retail, and manufacturing sectors. She has focused her practice on digital risk management. This includes compliance, governance, investigations, litigation and regulatory enforcement, and crisis management relating to privacy, data rights, digital safety, AI, cybersecurity, and data breaches. Colleen is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)/United States and a certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
