Sidley partner Justin Savage will serve as a panelist during the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show hosted November 4, 2025 - November 7, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The SEMA show is the premier trade show in the US$400+ billion automotive aftermarket industry and features 2,400 exhibitors from a range of companies in the industry, including manufacturers and suppliers of automotive accessories, major automakers, leading aftermarket manufacturers, private equity investors, and banks.
The panel, titled “Emissions Reality Check: Navigating EPA and CARB Compliance in the Trump Era,” will discuss how shifts in the Trump Administration’s regulatory approach affect EPA and CARB enforcement in automotive emissions. This discussion will also clarify current compliance expectations, dispel misconceptions about regulatory leniency, and give practical guidance to effectively manage risks and ensure compliance. Justin will be joined by moderator David Goch, SEMA General Counsel and partner at Webster, Chamberlain & Bean, as well as panelists Ed Kulschinsky, Attorney at the EPA’s Office of Civil Enforcement; Alberto Ayala, Executive Director and Air Pollution Control Officer at the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District; and Dean Schlingman, SEMA Director of Emissions Compliance.
