Elizabeth Shea Fries to Speak at Practising Law Institute’s Advanced Issues in Private Funds 2026

Sidley Investment Funds partner Elizabeth Shea Fries will serve as a panelist at the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) Advanced Issues in Private Funds 2026 program on July 14 at PLI’s Anita C. Shapiro Conference Center in New York. The advanced program brings together leading private funds practitioners to examine the latest developments in fundraising, liquidity solutions, fund financing, governance, and other complex issues shaping the private funds industry.

Liz’s session, “Understanding Upper Tier Arrangements,” will explore key considerations in structuring and managing the ownership and incentive arrangements of private fund management firms. The discussion will examine how closed-end and open-end fund managers structure upper-tier entities, including approaches to partner and employee retention, long-term equity and incentive compensation, restrictive covenants, compensation frameworks, and related tax considerations.
