On February 10, 2026, the Australian Communications and Media Authority released updates to the Commercial Radio Code of Practice that will require radio stations to disclose when programs are hosted by a synthetic voice generated by AI. On January 22, 2026, HB325 was introduced in the Alabama House of Representatives by Rep. Parker Moore (R). The bill would require any person who engages in a commercial transaction or trade practice through an AI chatbot to notify the consumer, initially and at regular intervals, that the consumer is interacting with a computer.January 22, 2026

On January 20, 2026, Utah H.B. 286, the AI Transparency Act, was introduced by Sen. Doug Fiefia (R). On January 20, 2026, the European Data Protection Board and the European Data Protection Supervisor adopted Joint Opinion 1/2026 on the Digital Omnibus on AI. While the Joint Opinion supported the Digital Omnibus on AI's general objective to ease administrative burdens relating to the implementation of the EU AI Act, it also raised concerns that certain proposals under the Digital Omnibus on AI could undermine the protection of individual rights. Accordingly, the Joint Opinion recommended reconsideration of, or changes to, several proposals, including those that would eliminate the obligation of AI providers and deployers to ensure AI literacy of their staff and delay the implementation of the EU AI Act's provisions governing high-risk AI systems.January 20, 2026

On January 13, 2026, SB129 was introduced in the Alabama Senate by Sen. Tim Melson (R). The bill would require developers of generative AI systems to disclose when an image or video content is AI-generated and would require the disclosures to be made in the same format as the AI-generated content. The bill would also require developers of generative AI systems to implement procedures to ensure that third-party licensees and end users of such content do not remove the disclosures.January 13, 2026
