Sidley Named a Top Law Firm for Restructuring in Germany by WirtschaftsWoche

German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche has recently recognized Sidley as one of the most renowned and recommended law firms in Germany for restructurings. Additionally, Munich-based partners Kolja von Bismarck and Patrick Schulz have been featured as among the leading restructuring lawyers in the country. In collaboration with the Handelsblatt Research Institute, WirtschaftsWoche surveyed over 1,600 lawyers from 159 law firms for this year’s rankings.
Kolja heads Sidley’s Restructuring group in Munich. He has extensive experience advising borrowers, secured and unsecured creditors, distressed investors, and private equity funds, as well as alternative credit providers on the restructuring of financially distressed companies, predominantly in a cross-border context. Kolja also regularly advises management teams and boards of directors regarding their duties in financially distressed situations.
Patrick advises companies, investors, sponsors, and secured and unsecured creditors on financial and operational restructurings both outside and in the context of insolvency proceedings. He focuses on cross-border and multinational restructurings and distressed transactions, in particular in cases involving complex financing structures. Patrick also advises on all aspects of German insolvency and restructuring law.
