The Hollywood Reporter has included Rollin A. Ransom in its “Top Music Lawyers” 2025 list. The feature recognizes the lawyers “behind the past year’s billion-dollar deals, rivalry spats and library acquisitions that keep the industry turntable spinning.”
The Hollywood Reporter has especially highlighted Rollin’s representation of Universal Music Group in the lawsuit brought by Drake over the distribution of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” in the headline-grabbing rap battle between the artists.
Rollin serves as co-leader of Sidley’s global Commercial Litigation and Disputes practice, and of the Entertainment, Sports and Media group. He is managing partner of the Los Angeles office and also head of the Greater Los Angeles Litigation group. Rollin has extensive experience prosecuting and defending lawsuits involving a wide variety of intellectual property claims, including copyright and theft of idea, trademark, false advertising, trade secret, and unfair competition actions.
