Sidley Partners Named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law List

Sidley partners Matthew Clemente, Janelle Ibeling, and John Skakun have been named to the list of Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law. The annual recognition honors senior Chicago-area professionals for their leadership, professional accomplishments, and contributions to their communities.

Matthew, who leads Sidley’s Chicago Restructuring group, was recognized for leading BowFlex’s Chapter 11 restructuring, including securing US$9 million in debtor-in-possession financing and a US$37.5 million asset sale to Johnson Health Tech Retail.

Janelle, who heads Sidley’s Chicago Investment Funds practice, was recognized for her work advising investment managers and institutional investors, including leading Kawa Capital’s launch of a social-purpose private fund that donates 50% of new net profits to support need-blind tuition at the Jewish Leadership Academy.

John, co-leader of Sidley’s Securities and Shareholder Litigation practice, was highlighted for representing Tesla’s special board committee in connection with the shareholder votes on Elon Musk’s compensation package and the company’s reincorporation in Texas.
