Jamie Cappell

JAMIE CAPPELL helps clients navigate all stages of complex commercial litigation, from drafting pleadings and dispositive motions through resolution. He has supported clients in high-stakes copyright, consumer protection, and other commercial matters across industries including entertainment and technology.

Jamie is committed to pro bono work. He participated in Sidley’s Pro Bono Fellowship Program with Bet Tzedek Legal Services, supporting low income individuals in claims for breach of contract, fraudulent transfer, and unpaid wages. He also participates in Sidley’s Veterans Advocacy Project, which supports veterans seeking their rightful benefits.

Jamie earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he served as a staff editor of the Columbia Journal of Tax Law, president of the Columbia Law Israel Organization, and a teaching assistant mentoring first-year law students in legal writing.

Before joining Sidley, Jamie worked as a financial consultant for an internationally recognized advisory firm, advising some of the world’s largest financial institutions.
