EMILY CHAZEN regularly advises private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies, and other institutional investors on a wide range of corporate transactions. In addition, Emily routinely counsels boards and management teams in navigating complex corporate governance situations.
While at Sidley, Emily completed a secondment at Apollo Enterprise Strategies, a subsidiary of Apollo Global Management, Inc. (NYSE: APO), a leading alternative asset management firm, where she advised Apollo and certain of its origination platforms in connection on complex corporate matters.
She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she received four “Dean's Scholar Prizes” and the “David Westfall Memorial Award.” During her time at Harvard Law School, Emily was a member of the editorial board of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and served as an executive director of the Harvard Prison Legal Assistance Project.
She received her B.A., summa cum laude, in English and religion from Haverford College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She also holds a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, where she was a presidential scholar.
