ALYSSA HASBROUCK represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including contract litigation, real estate litigation, and business torts. Alyssa has also represented clients in domestic and international arbitrations and in contested bankruptcy proceedings.

Alyssa rejoined Sidley after serving as a law clerk to The Honorable Pamela K. Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Alyssa graduated cum laude from Cornell Law School and served as a notes editor for the Cornell Law Review. Alyssa’s student note, “Rethinking ‘Just’ Compensation: Dignity Restoration as a Basis for Supplementing Existing Takings Remedies with Government-Supported Community Building Initiatives,” was published in volume 104. Alyssa was also a quarterfinalist in the National Moot Court Competition, where she received the “Justice Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Medal for Excellence in Advocacy.” Alyssa served as an executive bench editor for the Cornell Moot Court Board and was the co-president of Cornell’s Lambda Law Association. Alyssa received a B.A. from Yale University.

  • Vi-Jon, LLC, an American personal care company and the oldest private label manufacturer in the United States, in its prearranged Chapter 11 bankruptcy case in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
  • One of the largest banks in the U.S. in an internal review and multiple parallel investigations concerning fraud in unemployment benefits applications/payments post-COVID through the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program. The matter includes representing the bank in dozens of state and federal investigations in connection with the matter, including those being conducted by over a dozen U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, State Attorneys General, the Department of Labor, the US Secret Service, and state and local law enforcement (pending).
  • Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), a leading semiconductor and telecommunications technology company, in its acquisition of Arduino, an open-source hardware and software company.
  • Fortune-10 company McKesson in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of drugstore chain Rite Aid, filed on May 5, 2025, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
  • Miami-based medical services company CareMax Inc. in its US$693 million Chapter 11 filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas on Nov. 17, 2024.
  • A complete victory in a “bet-the-company” ICC arbitration involving a dispute between two NASDAQ-listed biotech companies relating to next-generation cancer treatments and settled the award for less than what the tribunal ordered.
  • Tricida, Inc. in its Chapter 11 sale of intellectual property, inventory, and certain related assets relating to clinical-stage pharmaceutical Veverimer to Renibus Therapeutics, Inc. The filing lists approximately US$200 million in principal funded debt under its convertible notes.
