Biography

JOANNA JANICA earned her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. While in law school, she served as a student clinician for Northwestern’s Immigration Law Clinic.

Prior to attending law school, Joanna graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Spanish, after which she worked as a legal assistant at a Chicago-based immigration law firm.

  • Lighthouse Investment Partners, LLC in its acquisition of the Pamli Global Credit Strategies business from Fir Tree Capital Management.
  • OSEA Malibu, a family-owned, seaweed-infused clean skincare brand, in a strategic growth investment by General Atlantic, a global growth equity investor.
  • Prospect Partners and its portfolio company Wedgewood Hospitality Group, Inc., a wedding services provider, in its acquisition by TJC, L.P.
  • Apollo (NYSE: APO) and its independently managed affiliate, Redding Ridge Asset Management (RRAM), in RRAM’s acquisition of Irradiant Partners, an employee-owned alternative investment manager. (Pending)
  • Olive & June, LLC, a leading omnichannel retailer of nail care products, in its US$240 million sale to consumer retail company Helen of Troy Limited.
  • Affiliates of Siris Capital Group, LLC in their US$591 million sale of Fiery, LLC to Seiko Epson Corporation.
  • Pinsly Railroad Co. in its proposed acquisition of Hondo Railway LLC.
  • American Industrial Partners (AIP) in its US$700 million acquisition of the Grain & Protein division of AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO).
  • Funds managed and/or advised by the subsidiaries of Apollo Global Management, Inc. (the “Apollo Funds”) in their acquisition of The Travel Corporation (“TTC”), a family-owned business which boasts a global portfolio of exceptional, market-leading travel brands.
  • Casa Systems, Inc., a telecommunications hardware and software company with approximately US$183 million in funded debt and operations across more than 10 countries at the time the Chapter 11 cases were commenced, which culminated with the fully consensual, uncontested confirmation of its Chapter 11 plan in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
  • nCino, Inc. in its acquisition of DocFox, a software company that helps simplify and automate opening new customer accounts in commercial and business banking.
