Stacey J. LaRiviere

STACEY LARIVIERE is a litigator who represents companies facing a wide range of claims in state and federal courts or alternative dispute resolution forums. She focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes, including high stakes contract disputes, product liability and mass torts, and consumer class actions. Clients value Stacey’s experience in all phases of litigation, her pragmatic approach, and her ability to collaborate with corporate stakeholders to drive favorable results. Stacey has also counseled clients in highly-regulated industries.

Prior to re-joining Sidley, Stacey worked in house at Amazon. And before joining Sidley, Stacey clerked for The Honorable Rossie D. Alston, Jr. during his service to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and to the Court of Appeals of Virginia.

Stacey earned her law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where she served as a vice chair for the Moot Court Executive Board and senior articles editor for the Washington and Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice. 

Through her pro bono practice, Stacey leverages her litigation and transactional experience to serve the community.

• Successfully litigated an Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act matter resulting in return of domain name to pro bono plaintiff.
• Provided trial support in custody dispute and represented the best interests of a minor as co guardian ad litem.
• Advised a developing nonprofit on form contract.
