Meenakshi Datta

MEENAKSHI DATTA is a partner in the firm’s Chicago office. She has substantial experience in various areas of health care regulatory law including health care reform; fraud and abuse; government price reporting; federal health care program coverage and reimbursement issues; health care compliance programs, including drafting policies and procedures, counseling on implementation issues, and conducting audits and internal reviews; managed care contracting; HIPAA and HITECH implementation and compliance; and federal and state transparency and reporting laws, including the Sunshine Act and similar state laws.

Ms. Datta has also worked with clients to respond to Congressional Committee inquiries. She has also performed regulatory due diligence reviews for major life sciences acquisition transactions and counseled clients on health care licensure and federal and state change of ownership issues related to those transactions.

Ms. Datta represents a diverse group of clients, including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, hospitals, health care consulting companies, private equity firms focusing on the health care sector, and medical associations and societies.

Ms. Datta has spoken at a variety of national and state conferences on health care regulatory issues, including the Sunshine Act, manufacturer disease management programs, the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, compliance with state drug price and gift reporting laws, and HIPAA. She occasionally guest lectures for a Healthcare Management course at Loyola University’s Chicago Graduate School of Business. Ms. Datta received her B.A. from Brown University and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
