Sidley Wins Diligent’s Activism Advisor Award for Issuer Representations in 2023

Sidley won Diligent Market Intelligence’s “Activism Advisor Award for Total Issuer Representations,” which recognizes the law firm that advised companies on the most activist campaigns in 2023.

Sidley’s representations in 2023 included Freshpet vs. JANA, Alkermes vs. Sarissa, Rogers vs. Starboard, Nordstrom vs. Ryan Cohen, Emerson Electric vs. National Instruments, LivePerson vs. Starboard, Purple Innovation vs. Coliseum, Avantax vs. Engine Capital, Pitney Bowes vs. Hestia Capital, and Cutera vs. Voce Capital.

Diligent’s award follows Sidley’s No. 1 rankings by Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and FactSet for Legal Shareholder Activism and Corporate Defense for 2022 and the first half of 2023. Additionally in 2023, Sidley was ranked in Band 1 by Chambers USA for Corporate/M&A: Takeover Defense, and in Tier 1 by The Legal 500 (U.S.) for Shareholder Activism – Advice to Boards. The Deal named Sidley “Activism Defense Law Firm of the Year (Large Cap)” the past two years.
