Los Angeles Business Journal has named Katherine (Kate) A. Roberts, co-chair of the firm’s Labor, Employment and Immigration group, to its 2024 “Leaders of Influence: Labor & Employment Attorneys” list. This is the third consecutive year that Kate has been recognized in the annual list, which celebrates the outstanding professionals making up the Los Angeles landscape for their significant contributions to their field and the legal community.
Kate has extensive experience in all aspects of employment litigation, counseling and labor relations, representing clients across various industries in complex and high-stakes matters. She routinely handles wage and hour class and collective actions involving state and federal overtime exemptions, meal, and rest period claims, and claims under the California Private Attorney General Act. Kate also defends employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, failure to accommodate, and other causes of action arising under state and federal law. She is also a leader in Sidley's L.A. office, serving as the Greater Los Angeles co-chair of SidleyWomen and a former co-chair of the Inclusion Committee. In addition, she is actively involved in pro bono and community work, serving on the board of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and as outside counsel for The Trevor Project and the ACLU of Southern California.
