Sidley Represents United Airlines in Connection With Azul’s Chapter 11 Cases

Sidley is representing United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (“United Airlines”) in the financial reorganization of its strategic partner AZUL S.A. (“Azul”), the largest airline in Brazil by number of flight departures and cities served. Azul filed for Chapter 11 protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on May 28, 2025. The company entered into Restructuring Support Agreements (the “Agreements”) with its key financial stakeholders, including United Airlines, to effectuate a proactive reorganization process. United Airlines will participate in the equity financing and obtain a seat on Azul’s reconstituted board following the restructuring process.
