Sidley advised Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD) in connection with an underwritten public offering of 25,500,000 shares of its common stock, estimated to raise approximately US$508 million gross proceeds, with the gross proceeds estimated at US$584 million if the option to purchase additional shares is exercised in full. Starwood Property Trust will use the proceeds to finance a portion of its recently announced US$2.2 billion acquisition of net lease platform Fundamental Income Properties, LLC, in which Sidley represented Starwood Property Trust.
