BEATRIZ AZCUY is co-managing partner of Sidley’s Miami office, head of the Real Estate group in Miami, and Miami chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. She has almost 30 years of experience advising and representing financial institutions, investment banks, private equity funds, and other institutional clients in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions. These transactions involve multifamily, mixed-use condominium, retail, infrastructure, energy, industrial, sports and entertainment facilities, and hospitality properties across the U.S. and Latin America. Her practice also includes the sale, acquisition, development, management, and leasing of various types of commercial real estate properties along with focusing on complex real estate and capital market financings, including senior and subordinate debt structures, construction lending, portfolio acquisitions, syndications, mezzanine loans, participations, and equity investments. In addition, Beatriz advises companies in Chapter 11 and corporate transactions involving real estate assets.
Beatriz has been recognized by Daily Business Review’s Florida Legal Awards as a 2023 “Best Mentor” honoree. She was also recognized by Latino Leaders Magazine as a “Top Latino Lawyer” (2022) and was named to Kayo Conference Series’ “Top 23 in ’23: Women in Multi-Family Investing” (2023). Beatriz received “Top Dealmaker of the Year” for Real Estate Finance by the Daily Business Review in 2011 for her work on restructuring the US$2.7 billion Beacon Capital Partners loan. At the time, the loan was one of the largest commercial real estate loans ever securitized to date. In 2010, she was recommended as a “Best Lawyer” by Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate Law in Miami and recommended by Legal 500 for Real Estate.
