FRANCESCA BRODY is a partner in the Securities and Shareholder Litigation practice of Sidley’s New York office. Her practice focuses on securities litigation and arbitrations and other complex commercial litigation on behalf of financial services clients, insurance companies, life sciences companies, and other public and non-public companies.
Francesca is a co-author of the “Securities Litigation” chapter of Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts. She maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented individuals in the New York state and federal courts and elsewhere. Recently, she has represented plaintiffs in § 1983 actions asserting violations of their constitutional rights against municipalities and others. In 2023, Francesca was recognized as a “Rising Star” by the New York Law Journal.
Francesca served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kevin Thomas Duffy of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her law degree from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a notes and articles editor for the Fordham Law Review.
