Biography

SHELBY GREAVES focuses her practice on commercial litigation and disputes.

Prior to joining Sidley, Shelby earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Shelby was a judicial extern for Judge Jane Boyle of the Northern District of Texas, articles editor for the SMU Law Review, research assistant for Professor Hillel Bavli, and interned for the Office of Management and Budget’s general counsel and the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in Washington D.C. She also volunteered for the Human Trafficking Data Collection Project and the Human Rights Initiative. Shelby graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee with a B.A. in communication studies and a minor in political science.

Representative Matters

  • Client in multiple False Claims Act matters in which Sidley successfully moved for summary judgment on all counts against Relator in the Eastern District of Texas.
  • A publicly traded social media company in an action against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the Northern District of Texas which Sidley successfully obtained dismissal with prejudice of the FTC’s two primary claims against client and settled the remaining claims.
  • A large manufacturer in contract and intellectual property disputes and achieved favorable settlements.
