ALEXANDER HIRSHFELD is counsel in the firm’s Global Finance group and is based in the Chicago office. Alex’s practice primarily encompasses warehouse and syndicated lending, securitization transactions across a range of asset classes including esoteric and emerging asset securitization, leveraged and asset-based lending, as well as project finance, cross-border financing transactions, private placements of debt, equity and hybrid securities, including Rule 144A, Regulation D, Regulation S offerings, 4(a)(2) private placements, public debt issuances, acquisition finance, and corporate restructuring and workout transactions. He has experience in representing issuers, borrowers, lenders, underwriters, trustees, investment banks, hedge funds, and private equity funds.
Prior to joining Sidley, Alex worked for a major international law firm in London, where his practice focused on securities, corporate finance, M&A, and general corporate matters. Alex has experience with multiple jurisdictions, including the United States and Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Eastern and Western Europe, Africa (including South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria and Ethiopia), the Middle East, Asia, and India.
Alex is fluent in French.
