IVY JONES practices primarily in the areas of federal corporate and partnership taxation. She has extensive experience in the planning and implementation of complex transactions and in the resolution of complex tax issues. Ivy has been regularly involved in tax matters affecting publicly traded and privately held real estate investment trusts, including in the context of large-scale mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations and securities offerings. Ivy also provides tax advice to investment managers of hedge funds, private equity funds and venture capital funds, both with respect to fund formation issues and investment activities and transactions. She also advises investors, including sovereign wealth funds and pension funds, regarding the tax aspects of the acquisition, ownership and disposition of real estate and other investments, including in the context of distressed situations. Ivy has also represented taxpayers in controversies, ruling requests and other matters with the Franchise Tax Board and Internal Revenue Service.
