
Biography
MICHAEL KALAN’s practice focuses on advising a wide variety of clients with respect to the structuring and negotiation of complex OTC derivative transactions, as well as the negotiation of a comprehensive range of trading agreements. Michael also regularly advises clients with respect to Dodd-Frank Title VII.
Prior to joining Sidley in 2021, Michael was an associate at a New York law firm focused primarily on OTC derivatives and other trading related matters, and served as in-house counsel to a global macro hedge fund. Michael's extensive in-house experience allows him to offer tailored and practical solutions for clients, underpinned by a deep understanding of their business needs.
