IGNACIO MONTAÑO DÍAZ focuses his practice on all aspects of EU competition law, including merger control, abuse of dominance, cartels, and state aid.

His experience covers a range of sectors, including technology, life sciences, media, sports, aviation, and transportation. Ignacio also advises on EU and UK regulatory matters, with a particular focus on digital regulation, and has been involved in litigation cases before the EU Courts. 

Ignacio’s experience includes advising:

• A sponsor consortium comprising DWS Group and Cutting Edge Group on antitrust aspects of creation of a joint venture with Warner Bros. Discovery covering one of the largest TV and film music rights portfolios in history.
• Clearlake Capital on antitrust aspects of its US$7.7 billion acquisition of Dun & Bradstreet.
• A leading consumer electronics company in an investigation by the Spanish CNMC concerning alleged anti-competitive agreements in online distribution.
