Biography
EMILY PICARD focuses her practice on the formation and ongoing operation of regulated fund structures. She advises asset managers, fund boards, and financial institutions on complex issues related to the development, launch, management, and distribution of registered fund products. Emily has experience advising managers, distributors and directors of interval funds, tender offer funds, open-end funds, business development companies, exchange-traded funds, and registered fund-of-funds products. She regularly provides guidance to asset managers and boards related to registration, disclosure, and compliance with regulatory requirements, including interactions with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Prior to joining Sidley, Emily served as in-house counsel for a global asset manager.

Representative Matters
- The independent directors of the Blue Owl Alternative Credit Fund, a closed-end interval fund.
- Aetos Alternatives Management in connection with the ongoing representation of its US$1.5 billion registered fund-of-funds complex, including as fund counsel for Aetos Long/Short Strategies Fund, LLC, Aetos Multi-Strategy Arbitrage Fund LLC, and Aetos Distressed Investment Strategies Fund LLC.
- Axxes Advisors on the launch of the Axxes Opportunistic Credit Fund, a closed-end management investment company that is operated as an interval fund.
- Partners Group on numerous matters, including as counsel to the Partners Group Private Equity Master Fund, a registered fund of private equity funds with over US$16 billion in assets; Partners Group Next Generation Infrastructure Fund, Partners Group Lending Fund, and several other Partners Group closed-end funds and BDCs, including its sub-advisory relationships.
- Matters related to the distribution of registered and regulated products by both principal underwriters and intermediaries.
