RENAUD POIZAT focuses his practice on derivatives documentation, such as ISDA Master Agreements, in addition to regulatory compliance obligations under Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the Dodd-Frank Act) and the various Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) rules thereunder.
Renaud earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law where he served as managing editor of the George Washington University International Law Review. While in law school, Renaud gained securities experience interning at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in its Legal Honors Program, and with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in its Office of Enforcement.
Prior to joining the firm, Renaud was counsel at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) with a similar focus on derivatives and other funding and liquidity-related matters. Prior to that, Renaud worked at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), working on investigations relating to potential insider trading.
