Biography
ALARIC SMITH focuses his practice on representing corporate clients in criminal and complex civil litigation in federal court, including actions brought under the False Claims Act and antitrust law.
Prior to joining Sidley, Alaric clerked for the Honorable Bridget S. Bade of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable John J. Tuchi of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
Alaric earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Law & Politics. Alaric also participated in the school’s Appellate Litigation Clinic, representing clients in an appellate matter before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Prior to attending law school, he received his B.A. in philosophy, politics & economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a two-time letterman on the varsity football team.
