STEPHEN SPECTOR maintains a diverse litigation practice. He has experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions in federal and state court, as well as appellate briefs in federal courts of appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Stephen also has experience in all aspects of discovery.
Stephen maintains an active pro bono practice. In 2023, he received the firm’s Thomas H. Morsch Award for Pro Bono Achievement in recognition of his work representing an inmate on death row in Alabama.
Stephen graduated cum laude from the University of Chicago Law School. While in law school, he earned The Thomas Mulroy Prize for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy and served as President of the Hinton Moot Court Board.
Stephen previously clerked for the Honorable Thomas M. Durkin of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Before law school, Stephen served as a spokesperson at The White House under the Obama Administration. He also worked at the U.S. Department of Education and for the Mayor of Chicago.
