Biography

KATY YU’s practice focuses on energy and corporate matters.

Katy obtained her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2022. Prior to attending law school, she attended the University of Houston and graduated summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in political science.

Experience

Representative Matters

  • OYA Renewables and seven solar community development affiliates in their Chapter 11 proceedings filed November 2024, DE.
  • Energy Transfer, LP in a definitive agreement for the purchase of Lotus Midstream Operations, LLC in a transaction valued at approximately US$1.45 billion from an affiliate of EnCap Flatrock Midstream.
  • National Western Life in its US$1.9 billion acquisition by an affiliate of Prosperity Life.
  • Haircare brand K18 in its agreement to be acquired by Unilever.
  • Coastal Waste & Recycling, Inc. in its acquisition of Southwest Waste, a leading independent waste-hauling and recycling company on Florida’s west coast.
  • A fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management in its agreement to acquire a 40% equity interest in Diamond Infrastructure Solutions (Diamond) from Dow Inc. for approximately US$2.4 billion. Diamond provides specialist infrastructure services to Dow and other industrial customers at five Dow manufacturing sites in Texas and Louisiana.
  • The Energy & Minerals Group in a US$465 million term loan “B” credit facility and a US$50 million superpriority revolving credit facility entered into in connection with the closing of a US$1.1 billion continuation vehicle that included EMG’s investments in core midstream infrastructure assets.
