Biography
RACHEL BISSEX advises clients on complex legislative, regulatory, and policy matters before Congress, the White House, federal agencies, and state attorneys general. She brings extensive experience navigating high-stakes government scrutiny and shaping policy outcomes across a range of issues, including artificial intelligence, antitrust and competition, technology regulation, First Amendment concerns, trade, and national security.
Prior to joining Sidley, Rachel served as vice president of federal government affairs at News Corp, leading advocacy efforts on critical policy issues and coordinating closely with legal, communications, and business teams. She previously held senior roles in the U.S. Department of Justice, including Deputy Chief of Staff and Counselor to the Attorney General, and on Capitol Hill as Senior Counsel to Senator Lindsey Graham and Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Counsel to Representative Ken Buck. In those roles, she advised on antitrust, cybersecurity, oversight investigations, and legislative strategy.
Rachel is valued for her deep understanding of the policymaking process and her practical, strategic approach to helping clients engage effectively with government decision-makers.
