Biography
MATHEW EAPEN focuses his practice on advising private investment funds, particularly venture capital, growth equity, and technology and healthcare-focused funds, on all aspects of their businesses, including capital raising, investment structuring and deal execution, and other operational and transactional matters. He also represents asset managers in strategic investments and M&A, joint ventures, fund restructurings and continuation funds, and other complex transactions. Mat’s representative clients have included Ares Management, Bain Capital, Blue Owl Capital, General Catalyst, Greenoaks Capital, ICONIQ Capital, JP Morgan Private Capital, Mainsail Capital Partners, Redesign Health, and Thrive Capital.
Mat was previously a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of State, where he focused on encouraging science and technology entrepreneurship. While in law school, he served as managing editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law.
