
Biography
STEPHEN FOX focuses on the establishment and operation of private investment funds for a range of independent and institutional fund managers across a variety of asset classes. His experience includes advising on the structuring, marketing, and negotiation of such funds, as well as the commercial issues that arise from their day-to-day operations. In addition, Stephen advises a number of institutional investors on their participation in private investment funds.
He completed secondments to China Investment Corporation in Beijing and to Apax Partners for 12 months as its interim general counsel and in-house funds counsel.
Stephen was recognized in Chambers UK 2015 with clients describing him as “technically very able in a complicated process with lots of moving parts.” He was also named to The Lawyer’s “Hot 100” in 2012, which recognizes “the most daring, innovative, and creative lawyers.”

Representative Matters
Stephen’s representative matters include advising:
- Actis on its first and second Long Life Infrastructure Funds, that raised aggregate commitments of approx. $3 billion.*
- Graphite Capital Partners on their fundraisings, GCP VIII and GCP IX that raised aggregate commitments of approx. £1 billion.*
- Hamburg Commercial Bank on the establishment of its multi-manager credit platform and its deployment through SMAs with multiple leading private credit managers.*
