ELENA HEYS is an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and is a member of the Tax Controversy group. Her practice focuses on complex tax controversies and litigation involving a wide range of federal, state, and international tax issues.
Elena received both her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 2016 and in 2017, respectively. As a J.D. candidate, she served as a Current Development Editor and drafted two publications for the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. Elena also received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Maryland in 2013.
Prior to joining the firm, Elena was an associate at a law firm in Maryland focusing on tax law. Her practice included the representation of clients in tax controversy and compliance matters against the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Justice, and various state taxing entities.
