Sidne T. Norman

SIDNE NORMAN focuses her practice on corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and capital markets transactions.

Prior to joining Sidley, Sidne worked as a paralegal in the Kings County District Attorney’s office, where she prepared felony and misdemeanor cases for trial and grand jury presentation.

Prior to joining the M&A practice group, Sidne contributed to a Sidley team that published “Leveling the Playing Field: How Clearer Guidance May Provide Equity in Student-Athlete Name, Image, and Likeness Deals” in Sports Litigation Alert. She also researched fan misconduct for a major sports organization and assisted with drafting a sponsorship agreement for a professional sports team.

While attending Cornell Law School, she served as president of the Black Law Students Association and an acquisition editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy. She was also a student representative for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. As a student attorney, she practiced in the Gender Justice Clinic and completed the New York Pro Bono Scholars Program through the Juvenile Justice Clinic and Capital Punishment Clinic, representing juveniles and death-sentenced individuals challenging their convictions and sentences. Prior to starting law school, Sidne served as president of the National Black Law Students Association’s Pre-Law Chapter at Syracuse University.

Sidne has an intermediate proficiency in Mandarin.
