Biography

DR. RODERIC PAGEL is co-head of the European Tax group and advises clients on German and international tax matters, with a particular focus on the structuring of Private Equity and M&A deals and restructuring transactions, as well as fund structuring.

In the 2017 edition of Chambers Europe, clients describe him as “very knowledgeable and responsive to requests.” The 2018 edition named him as a leading tax lawyer in Germany. Roderic has also been recognized by Who’s Who Legal Germany 2022 for Investment Management, and he is listed as “Best Lawyer” for Tax Law in Germany by Handelsblatt Best Lawyers 2025.

Prior to joining Sidley in 2017, Roderic was a partner in another international law firm.

He is fluent in German, English, and French.
