Julia M. Steiner

JULIA STEINER represents clients in complex commercial litigation across various industries, including national consumer class actions, mass torts and product liability matters, and other high-stakes disputes. She has worked on nationwide multidistrict litigation (MDL) proceedings and has experience in federal and state courts across the country, as well as private arbitrations. She has experience handling all phases of litigation, including pre-suit matters, pleadings, dispositive motion practice, fact and expert discovery, depositions, hearings, trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and appeals.

Prior to joining Sidley, Julia interned for the Honorable Roy K. Altman of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Julia earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude and Order of the Coif. In 2023, Julia received the Bruce J. Winick Award for Academic Excellence, a full academic scholarship for students in the top 1% of their class at the end of each year.

During law school, Julia served as an articles and comments editor for the University of Miami Law Review, where she published her student note and co-authored an article with a nationally recognized litigator. Julia also interned for the Children & Youth Law Clinic, where she received the Markus Award in 2025, which recognizes one student each year for outstanding clinical work.
