JAMES CHENEY received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.S. from Stonehill College, where he majored in biological sciences.
Prior to joining Sidley, James worked as a research assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he performed translational research on hepatitis and HIV immunological treatments and assisted in the early stages of COVID-19 drug treatment trials.
While attending law school, James served as an editor of the University of Illinois Law Review and received the 2024 “Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Writing” for his student note.
