CARRIE LI focuses primarily on international public offerings and private placements of securities. She has represented both issuers and underwriters in debt and equity securities offerings and related compliance matters. She is a partner in Sidley Austin's Hong Kong office who is highly regarded for handling both investment-grade and high-yield debt issuances, as well as debt restructuring transactions.
Carrie has been recognized as a leading individual in capital markets (debt and high-yield) by Chambers Greater China Region, Chambers Asia-Pacific, Chambers Global, and IFLR1000. Clients praised her in Chambers Greater China Region 2022 edition as being “very hands-on and is always on top of things.” In Chambers Asia-Pacific 2021, a client praised Carrie’s ability to “manage the whole situation well, including any complicated situations.” A client who was quoted in the 2020 edition commented: “She is really professional, she can really help us. I was most impressed regarding the bond terms, which they assisted us in designing. I can tell she really knows the business.” Financial Times also commended Sidley in FT Innovative Lawyers Asia-Pacific Report 2018 for navigating regulatory hurdles to “pursue a unique restructuring strategy” for China Evergrande Group’s offshore restructuring, led by Carrie.
