
Biography
ZACH PATERICK represents alternative asset managers and institutional investors in connection with private capital investment structures and transactions. His practice spans hedge, private credit, private equity, secondaries, venture capital and real estate strategies, as well as hybrid and strategic products. He advises and represents a wide range of investment advisory firms, fund sponsors, asset managers and institutional asset allocators in a variety of formation, transactional, and regulatory matters. Zach regularly advises lead investors in GP-led fund and other primary and secondary special situation transactions, seed and acceleration capital transactions, lift out and similar strategic asset-management transactions.
Zach is a member of Sidley’s award-winning Investment Funds practice, which provides top-tier service to all aspects of the private funds industry. Chambers USA awarded the group top band rankings in Hedge Funds every year since 2008. Sidley has also been named “Law Firm of the Year” in Private Funds/Hedge Funds Law in U.S. News – Best Lawyers 2022 “Best Law Firms.”
Zach received his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross (Economics-Accounting), his J.D. magna cum laude from The University of Michigan Law School and his MBA from The University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Zach graduated from Michigan Law as a member of its chapter of The Order of the Coif. Zach is a former CPA (not renewed) in the State of Illinois.
