Biography
LARRY SILVERMAN is a trial lawyer with vast experience in antitrust, class action, mass action and commercial litigation matters, particularly in the state of Florida. His antitrust practice focuses on distribution law issues (such as MAP, resale, and unilateral pricing policies, internet sales restrictions, and dealer agreements), state, federal, and civil cartel investigations, and governmental premerger approvals.
For over a decade Larry has been ranked in the top tier in Florida for Antitrust by Chambers USA (2011–2025) and in 2018 he was recognized as a “Most Effective Lawyer” for Complex/Business Litigation by the Daily Business Review. Larry’s other recognitions include being named “Lawyer of the Year” for Antitrust Law in Miami by The Best Lawyers in America (2013, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2026) and by the same publication for Antitrust Law, Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Antitrust, and Litigation – Banking and Finance in Florida (2006–2026). He has also been listed by Super Lawyers Magazine (2006–2022) in Florida for Antitrust Litigation; listed in Florida Trends Legal Elite for Antitrust and Trade Regulation; and was named one of the “500 Leading Litigators in America” by Lawdragon in 2022. Larry was awarded the Miami Daily Business Review’s Most Effective Lawyers Award in 2008, runner-up in 2007 and 2009; The Florida Bar 2007, President’s Pro Bono Service Award; Dade County Bar Association 2006, Richard C. Milstein Excellence Award; and Dade County Bar Association 2001 and 2006, Put Something Back Pro Bono Award.
Larry is a member of Sidley’s Office of General Counsel. He chairs the firm’s Pro Bono and Public Interest Law Committee in Miami.

Representative Matters
A sampling of Larry’s key representations prior to joining Sidley includes:
- Represented Sunbelt Rentals in numerous nationwide class actions challenging loss damage waiver, environmental fee charges, refueling charges, and transportation.*
- Obtained a $53,300,000 verdict on behalf of a toll contractor against a Florida governmental agency after two one-month trials.*
- Represented Airgas in numerous nationwide class actions challenging fuel surcharges.*
- Represented a CEO and obtained a complete defense verdict in a federal fax class action trial brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).*
- Represented a Florida internet reseller who was sued in a class action by the Florida Attorney General’s Office. Tried a Florida Deceptive and Unfair Practices Act (FDUTPA) class action to a defense jury verdict.*
- Acting as primary outside counsel for a large global consumer products manufacturer on antitrust and distribution matters.*
- Represented Tronox as replacement counsel and obtained FTC approval for a multibillion dollar transaction after the FTC had successfully blocked the transaction administratively and in court.*
- Won summary judgment on behalf of a toy maker and its private equity fund owner in a federal antitrust lawsuit.*
