JONG-IHN CHUNG advises on debt capital markets transactions including standalone bonds, Euro Medium-Term Note programs, liability management, commercial paper, and general finance advisory work.

Jong-Ihn acts for both issuers and underwriters across developed and emerging markets.

Prior to joining Sidley, Jong-Ihn was seconded to the capital markets legal team of a Japanese investment bank’s London office and the EMEA legal team of a financial market infrastructure company.

Examples of Jong-Ihn’s work include advising:

• Advised the joint global coordinators, dealer managers and joint bookrunners on the successful issuance by VEON of a US$1.4 billion dual-tranche senior unsecured notes offering.
• Advised Bank RBK, one of Kazakhstan’s leading private financial institutions, on its successful debut US$300 million Eurobond offering.
• The joint global coordinators, dealer managers and joint bookrunners on JSC National Company QazaqGaz’s US$700 million bond offering and liability management exercise.
• Underwriters in a corporate issuer’s debut green bond transaction.
• A European utility company in the establishment of its green finance framework.
• A Baltic sovereign in its Eurobond issuance.
• Numerous GCC sovereigns in relation to EMTN program drawdowns.
• A multilateral development bank on its purchase of a Turkish financial institution’s covered bond private placement.
• Multiple Nordic financial institutions in relation to regulatory capital issuances.
• Underwriters in relation to numerous EMTN program establishments, updates, and drawdowns.
