Patrick Donaldson

PATRICK DONALDSON focuses his practice on a variety of technology transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, IP licenses, software development and licensing, outsourcing, and other commercial arrangements.

Patrick earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. During law school, he interned at eBay and worked as a research assistant focused on international and comparative law. Patrick earned his LL.M. in international and European business law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, with a focus on international regulation of technology and antitrust.

Before attending law school, Patrick worked as a legal assistant in Washington and Texas, providing legal services for insurance defense, individual and commercial bankruptcy, and personal injury litigation. Patrick received his B.A. in political science with departmental honors from Seattle University, with minors in Japanese language and Asian studies.

• Amazon Web Services in its agreement with Meta Platforms, Inc. to power agentic AI on Amazon’s Graviton chips. 
• Siris Capital in its US$4.2 billion sale of Equiniti to Bullish. 
• GE HealthCare in its US$945 million acquisition of radiopharmaceutical company SOFIE Biosciences. 
• Qualcomm Incorporated in its acquisition of Arduino, an Italian open-source hardware and software company. 
• Smith+Nephew in its acquisition of Integrity Orthopaedics, a U.S.-based sports medicine company focused on soft tissue repair solutions, for up to US$450 million. 
• Life360 in its agreement to acquire Nativo, a leading advertising technology company, in a transaction valued at approximately US$120 million in cash and stock. 
• Electronics for Imaging, Inc. in its combination with Agfa-Gevaert N.V.’s Digital Printing Solutions business. 
• Salt & Stone, a Los Angeles-based premium body care brand, in its majority acquisition by global private equity investor Advent International.
