MARIA PAZIOTOPOULOU focuses her practice on EU competition law, advising on cartel investigations, merger control, abuse of dominance, and foreign direct investment, as well as regulatory issues involving digital markets, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Her experience covers several industries, including digital platforms, telecommunications, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods.
With a background in both EU and U.S. law, Maria brings a transatlantic perspective to her practice. She earned her LL.M. from Harvard Law School, concentrating on the legal and policy challenges shaping innovation-driven markets.
Prior to joining Sidley, she worked at a leading law firm in Athens, advising international and domestic clients on competition law matters.
