Hui Wu

HUI WU’s practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution. She has acted for clients from a wide range of industries (including M&A, private equity and joint venture, real estate and biotechnology) in international arbitration cases conducted under various arbitration rules (including those of the ICC, HKIAC and UNCITRAL), and has advised clients on arbitration-related proceedings before the Hong Kong courts (including setting aside of arbitral awards and cross-border enforcement proceedings).

Hui also has experience in transactional matters, specifically Hong Kong IPOs and Rule 144A and Regulation S bond offerings.

Hui is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Representative Adversarial Experience

• Acted for a major private equity fund in an HKD 2.9 billion HKIAC arbitration governed by Hong Kong law against a major Hong Kong listed Chinese company in relation to alleged breaches of an agreement for the issuance of shares.
• Acted for a limited partnership in an RMB 2 billion multi-contract and multi-party HKIAC arbitration governed by Hong Kong law against, among others, a Singapore private equity fund in relation to alleged breaches of a share acquisition agreement and related share pledge agreements.
• Acted for sellers of shares in an HKIAC arbitration against buyers in relation to alleged breach of warranties under a share purchase agreement governed by Hong Kong law.
• Acted for a Hong Kong company as seller of shares in an HKIAC arbitration against guarantor for buyer’s failure to perform its payment obligations under the share purchase agreement.
• Acted for a P.R.C. property development and investment company in court proceedings before the High Court of Hong Kong to enforce a Mainland China judgement.
• Acted for a Hong Kong company in court proceedings before the High Court of Hong Kong to apply for enforcement of a Hong Kong International Arbitration Center arbitration award.

Representative Transactional Experience

• Advised joint sponsors and joint global coordinators in a Chinese dental brace maker’s initial public offering and listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
• Advised a leading Chinese building materials manufacturer listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on its B to H Share listing by way of introduction on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
• Advised a leading power generation company in China on its London Stock Exchange listing of global depositary receipts (GDRs) representing its Shanghai-listed A shares via Shanghai-London Stock Connect.
• Provided compliance advisory services to an H-share listed cloud services provider under the Listing Rules of the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
