PETER BOULLE has extensive experience advising fund managers, across asset classes (private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and credit), on the full spectrum of fund-level matters arising throughout the lifecycle of the funds and other investment arrangements that they manage, as well as key internal "house" transactions and arrangements. Peter also works with investor clients on the making of commitments to funds and other alternative investment mandates.
Peter’s practice focuses on:
- primary fundraisings, managed accounts, single asset vehicles, and LP co-investment arrangements;
- single and multi-asset continuation funds and other GP-led secondary transactions;
- fund work-outs and bespoke “end of life” solutions for funds with unrealised assets at or approaching the end of their term;
- establishment of "first time" fund managers, internal governance arrangements for fund management businesses, team carried interest and co-investment schemes; and
- asset manager M&A transactions, GP-staking, and revenue sharing arrangements.
Peter’s fund formation track record includes supporting clients on mid-market and mega fundraisings, both for established managers on the latest vintages of flagship products and new managers raising "first time" funds, and targeting capital from all main categories of institutional investor (including sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions, pensions funds, insurance companies, fund of funds, foundations, and family offices). Peter also has over 10 years’ experience working on GP-led secondaries transactions, and was recognised by Private Equity International as a “Young Gun of Secondaries” in 2016 for his work on a series of pioneering transactions at an early stage of the sector’s development.
Prior to joining Sidley in 2025, Peter was a partner in the London Private Funds group of another international law firm and has worked in-house at an investment management firm supporting its private equity and infrastructure teams.
