Boston – Sidley is pleased to announce that Michael Rohr has joined as a partner in the Emerging Companies and Venture Capital (ECVC) practice in Sidley’s office in Boston. Prior to joining Sidley, Mr. Rohr was a partner in the corporate practice at Cooley LLP.
Mr. Rohr represents growth stage technology and life sciences companies from inception to exit, counseling these companies on their general corporate and strategic needs, as well as on fundraising and transactional matters. He also counsels venture capital and growth/private equity funds, corporate VCs, and strategic acquirors on investment transactions and acquisitions. Mr. Rohr’s practice includes company and investor side representation on venture capital financings, growth equity transactions, secondary liquidity transactions, and M&A.
“We are thrilled with our continuing strides in building out Sidley’s ECVC practice, and Mike’s guidance and counsel to emerging and growth-stage life sciences, healthcare, and technology companies fits our model of helping them scale to maturity,” said Brian Fahrney, Chair of Sidley’s Executive Committee. “Mike’s work complements some of our core strengths and he’ll collaborate with other Sidley partners to provide counsel on later stage financing, M&A and IPO transactions, as well as litigation and regulatory matters.”
“Mike has strong ties to the Boston community. He will be a great addition to our office, joining recent new partners Mat Eapen, Jason Kropp, and Craig Hilts,” said Liz Fries, managing partner of the Boston office, global leader of the firm’s Investment Funds practice, and a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee. “Mike will work closely with our Boston partners as well as other recent ECVC and Investment Funds partners, such as Mike Podolny and Shane Goudey, to serve venture and growth equity companies and funds in Boston, New York, California, and other key markets.”
